New Patients
New Patients Welcome
Looking for a new dentist in Cornwall? Learn what happens at a first visit, what to bring, and how our team helps you get started.
A comfortable start
Your first visit begins with a conversation
Whether you need a routine checkup, are transferring from another office, or are looking for a family dentist for every generation, our team takes time to understand what brings you in.
We review your health history, listen to your concerns, and explain each part of the visit before care proceeds. Recommendations are discussed in clear language so you can make informed decisions.
Your appointment
What to expect at your first visit
- 1
Conversation and health history
We record your medical and dental history, medications, previous experiences, and the concerns you want addressed.
- 2
Comprehensive dental examination
Your dentist examines your teeth, gums, bite, oral tissues, and existing restorations. Digital X-rays may be recommended when needed.
- 3
Findings explained clearly
We discuss what we see, answer questions, and identify what may need attention now versus what can be monitored.
- 4
A care plan that fits your needs
If treatment is recommended, we review options, likely steps, timing, insurance considerations, and appropriate alternatives.

Changing dental offices
New to Cornwall or switching dentists?
Moving your care to York Street Dental Centre can be straightforward. If useful, your previous dental office can send recent records or X-rays. If records are unavailable or out of date, your dentist will decide what new diagnostic information is appropriate.
A panoramic or other digital X-ray may be recommended to establish a current baseline, but X-rays are taken according to individual need.
Care through every stage
New patients of all ages are welcome
Dr. Topouzov can also accommodate children, adolescents, and patients with special needs. Tell us how we can support you when requesting your appointment.
